Hello Friends,
This morning I had the pleasure of visiting a garage/estate sale. The sale was advertised on my local Kijiji boards, gaining 350 views before the sale began. I was expecting the home to be very busy, and it was!
My Mister and I arrived before 8am, and the sale was already bustling with buyers. Though we were not overly impressed with the selection of items, we did find a couple of treasures.
The best find that we were able to snag was a vintage Hamilton Beach Milkshake Mixer. The mixer was in great condition - it just needed a little TLC to bring it back to original greatness.
I wanted to read up on Hamilton Beach, so I headed over to the trusty Wikipedia article to do some research. Here are the highlights: The company was founded in 1910, using the motor that the founder, Frederick J. Osius invented. The motor would go on to be featured in their first drink mixer, The Cyclone. The mixer was found in home and restaurants throughout the 1930s. The Hamilton Beach line expanded to include stand mixers, blenders, toasters and irons to name a few.er, Frederick J. Osius invented. So, my mixer. As I said, the estate sale was bustling. We were corralled to the upstairs of home and there was a table with assorted kitchenwares. I snapped up the mixer and the matching mixing containers. The only thing it's missing is a stainless steal mixing container. I'm thinking I should be able to buy one new or find one on Etsy. Perhaps even one day I'll be able to get one of the minty mixers. I'm going to have to have a milkshake party!
Happy scavenging!
