Butterfly Gold

Hello Friends!

Today I'd like to share my Pyrex Butterfly Gold collection. This collection pretty much fell into my lap.

When I was moving out of my parent's home about three years ago, I put a call out to my extended family asking for any unused kitchenwares they might have. My wonderful Aunt obliged passing on to us some of her old Pyrex.

After doing a little research, I found out that the pattern was introduced in the 1960s and was one of the most common but widely collected of all the Pyrex series. Generally speaking, the series had either butterflies and flowers on a solid colour or butterflies and flowers imprinted on wheat stalks. They were generally a white pattern on yellow-orangy background or vice/versa. Some of the smaller pieces have just one flower, while other casseroles were plain and solid in colouring with no pattern at all. I love this collection. The gravy boat is wonderful, and the dish set is delightful! I hope to add to my collection in the very near future.

Happy scavenging!
