Milk Glass Vase Collection

Tuesday, 5 June 2012

Hello Friends!

I'd like to share with you my growing collection of milk glass vases. As I've recently read on Wikipedia, milk glass was originally made in Italy in the 16th century. It was not only manufactured in white, but also in blue, pink and yellow.  You can read the full article here.

The vases in the photograph were all purchased for a combined less than $5. The two matching vases were purchased at different times. I was so happy when I found a matching vase to the one on the far right. I love the criss-cross detail of the small vases, and the traditional shape of the hobnail vase. My hope is to add to the collection with not only more vases, but also with dishes. I would love to add a cute dresser set to my collection, or even an adorable little cake stand to further my obsession. A girl can dream!

Happy scavenging!
